Save lives. Yourself including.

Dear family and friends,

Heart disease and stroke affect many Americans today. Whether we have lost a loved one or are personally struggling with heart-related ailments, it is important to make sure that future generations never have to endure heart disease and stroke.

I am doing my part in fighting heart disease and stroke by participating with the Baldi family in the American Heart Association’s 5K Start! Heart Walk in Stevensville, Maryland on Saturday, April 24, 2010. I plan to walk in honor of my loved ones that I have lost from heart-related complications, and in support of never losing another loved one from these diseases in the future.

Together, my team is planning on raising at least $1,000 to help this great cause. Personally, I am going to raise $250 of that, so I need your help.

Please take a moment to go online to www.heartwalk.kintera.org/chesapeakemd. You can select Donate and search for my name (Jessica Baldi) to contribute any amount you wish. All donations are tax-deductible.

Please support this cause and my walk by making a donation that will help provide research and education to stop our No. 1 and No. 3 killers.

Americans need more funding for heart disease and stroke research, not less. Unfortunately, our nation’s investment in medical research supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has declined over the last five years. NIH continues to invest only 4% on heart research and a mere 1% on stroke research. More funding could enable the NIH to support promising heart and stroke studies that could lead to a cure, which is why your help means so much. One day we will have this beat, but until then feel free to join me in supporting this wonderful event.

With love,
Jessica

marching into march

being sick as a dog during midterms does me no justice… yet am making the best out of it by opening the windows in my room, letting the breeze come in and out, as they please while i do my papers. i have to do what i have to do. besides, it is quite beyond the bounds of possibility to make such a fuss on a lovely day like this one… especially after that one crazy winter we had. outside my windows i can see people riding on their bikes, running, playing out in the yard, and simply appreciating the first spell of spring :)

the untamed february fury is over. i’m bidding winter an adieu and welcoming march with a big, grand, bear hug… enough for me to forget for a moment that i am practically physically defective and i have midterms to do…

ah, yeah. i better get back to that before i’m charmed by the bewitchment of spring ;)
